On the Fence?
Here’s why you want to attend—and why you might think twice.
In the words of past attendees.
I’ve never had discussions on race that were so respectful. Difficult, yes. But eye-opening and worthwhile.
I want to get off the sidelines and speak up about racial inequity. I have a lot to learn.
I want my voice to be heard. I want to contribute to multi-race conversations. I still have some things to learn. I appreciate at least 30% of participants are people of color, and the program is co-hosted by people of different races.
It can be upsetting and draining to discuss this topic, especially in mixed race groups.
I looked closely at what my life has taught me about racism. I considered which beliefs or assumptions to leave behind. I engaged using 20 Conversation Starters. I was challenged and moved by participant’s stories. I now have clarity about what is uniquely ‘Mine To Do?’.
